Intended for hoopers of all abilities, each session will combine instruction, drills, and exercises designed to improve your hoop technique and help you to discover your own unique hoop dance. These days, hoopers come in all ages, shapes, sizes and genders (I seriously can’t think of anything hotter than a boy hooper!) The class will also help students develop performance skills and may focus on specific techniques needed to fire hoop depending on interest.

Surprise! has been hooping for five years. She developed her skills in San Francisco before moving out to Washington DC in 2007. She is an experienced fire performer who has performed at festivals, clubs, and private events across the country.

November Saturday

Pregnant Skies Heavy with Moisture
and Thick with Anticipation.

Warm air in the late Fall
Kisses my spirit and
Reminds me that
Warmth is a blessing to
my Soul

Head back, watching the clouds race by -
the smell of fallen leaves and moist earth
Sweet and juicy,
Like pumpkin spice and buttered gingerbread.

Darker thoughts recede
and stress dissipates -

Barking dogs
Remind me that all is not content,

But, simply held at bay
for now.

Making dances is part of what keeps me sane... otherwise I'm haunted by the images in my mind.

Poetry on a bar-nap returns!! And a new word...

The word first:

Unfunctionable (adj) - A state of being far beyond simple dysfunction. Ex. I danced so hard last night, I am unfunctionable.

Here's a video example:

Here's a pic of the poetry happening....

And tomorrow... the words :)
