working it out

Wow. I'm exhausted! The studio is going... students are trickling in (I'd love a flood) and we are moving in the right direction. Parents have written amazing testimonials to the parent site for Takoma Park... I'm grateful for their words.

Here's what we've been up to in rehearsal:

WORKIN'

OUCH!!! The back-in-season muscles are barking today. BUT, I'm loving it!!! Can't deny it. I made a dance today... the first part of one anyway. A.K. said I should make a dance a week. I wish the muse was so generous. Sometimes she is - last project came very quickly - BUT, sometimes she's not so kind.

Here's the video from rehearsal... just a sketch: SideWalk

Funny side note: a resident walked by as we were rehearsing and thought we were really having a girl-fight.

Classes are happening, students are trickling in.... we need more, always more. I'm encouraged by the community, though. Takoma Park rocks. If you don't know, you need to check it out. It's a very cool place to be. :)

REHEARSAL FOOTAGE

Yesterday marked the beginning of the season (and the training!) with a 10-5 rehearsal... two new dances down :) As I wrote to the poet:
I always find myself in the dances - they are my sanctuary, my madness, and my home.
